Our Vision

Living in a globalized world, we know the importance of learning a second language. Learning a language is much more than just learning its grammatical rules and structures. To truly learn a second language, you have to live it, which is why we recommend that you work with native-speaking professionals who will take you or your children on a true journey. This isn’t just about learning a new language, but about a cultural experience from wherever you are.

“You don’t need to go abroad to benefit from learning with a native speaking teacher…”™®

Julia Gornall:

¡Hola! My name is Julia Gornall and I’m a first generation American. My mother is Costa Rican and therefore, my first language at home was Spanish! I studied History and Education with a minor in Spanish at the University of Arizona. My primary focus dealt with Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Society and I have lots of experience working with students with disabilities. I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was in the first grade and I am so happy that my journey has allowed me to also bring my heritage to the table by teaching Spanish. I’m a big computer nerd, and I’ve traveled to many countries and I am constantly humbled by the beauty of the world. Food is my love language. As a Los Angeles native, I am proud to exist in a city with so much cultural, and I aspire to learn something new every day.

“We wanted our two 8 year-old boys to practice their Spanish so they could become more fluent and comfortable with the language. We had met Patricia at school and immediately reached out to her, knowing how kind and dedicated she is. It was a wonderful decision. In just a few weeks she helped our boys enjoy conversing in Spanish! Patricia is so kind and loving and my boys love their time with her. “

“Patricia was a long-term substitute who immediately jumped into her work with 7th and 8th graders and with our after-school homework help program. She found meaningful ways to bring the curriculum to life and worked with other faculty to make sure that students received helpful feedback and relevant instruction. She was quick to ask for help when she needed it and quick to respond to our requests.”

I wanted my son to improve his Spanish skills.. He joined Miss Guevara’s class for an hour, twice a week. She is very kind and focuses on the practice work to obtain easier comprehension and breaks difficult sentences into simple ones. My son enjoyed the practice exercises very much. They are great for learning faster..

I’m fluent in French and I just started taking Spanish classes as a third language. Lessons with Nury have been fun! She is friendly and patient when it’s hard for me to pronounce some of the words. Learning with a native teacher has been a great experience, so I recommend this class to everyone who wants to learn Spanish!
